New TV Magic Offerings to be Highlighted at NAB2007:
i/o Product Line
At NAB2007 TV Magic will introduce its new tested and certified i/o products, which are completely scalable workflow systems designed to grow alongside the client’s operations. >From ingest to editing, to news and the Web, i/o offers solutions for many applications. Whether the client uses a stand alone module from the i/o workflow or integrates the modules seamlessly using a TCP/IP connection, the i/o product line is a simple, powerful, and affordable digital solution clients can rely on to meet their production demands. With Apple’s Final Cut Studio®, the industry standard for editing and digital content as the base interface of the i/o workflow, the client is offered unlimited creativity.
i/oIngest: This product offers users an ingest channel for capture of any footage from tape- or file-based media. i/oIngest uses Apple’s QuickTime® to allow users to view the feed at the same time it is being recorded. Clients can add as many record, edit, and playback channels as they desire. i/oIngest captures direct-to-local or shared storage and can also perform long captures at varying durations. Formats used for capture in i/oIngest include DV25, DV50, DVCPro HD, IMX and others.
i/oEdit: The base configuration for i/oEdit includes two Apple Mac® Pros with Final Cut Studio installed. Shared storage is an option using either Apple’s Fibre Channel solution or the latest GigE technology.
i/oCast: Using the power of the Mac OS X and an RSS feed, i/oCast is the next step for users who want to distribute digital content into the digital world. i/oCast helps users prepare their finished product for podcasting, video-on-demand (VOD), and RSS feeds via Internet and Web-accessible cell phones.
Other Company Offerings to Be Highlighted at NAB2007:
Engineering Services and Design
TV Magic offers complete design, renovation, and build of facilities, as well as television stations, post-production studios, houses of worship, city council chambers, and college and university A/V rooms and production studios. TV Magic follows a rigorous five-phase system process map that covers the range from initial design and line-item equipment lists to installation, proof-of-performance, and system training.
Engineering Consulting
TV Magic works closely with its customers to form a comprehensive plan for their facilities, be it new building or worship-facility construction, retrofitting an existing building for a new purpose, or discussing a major technical initiative. TV Magic can create specifications and documentation for a large bid or design a technical master plan, budget, and schedule for an organization, regardless of size. TV Magic has experienced engineers who can help clients avoid mistakes that can be quite costly down the road.
System Integration
A great deal of care and detail accompany each and every TV Magic installation. Experts prepare, cut, and terminate every cable according to a specific cable database that is populated directly from the CAD drawings that the design engineer creates. Because of detailed cut lists and databases, TV Magic installers can move more efficiently while on the job site, thus reducing installation time. Once run and terminated, every cable is tested at each end to ensure correct signal quality and flow. Cables are also clearly labeled with source and destination information. This makes future trouble-shooting easier and allows for ease of installation of new devices into the system at a later date.
Service Support Group
The Service Support Group (SSG) is a new division at TV Magic dedicated to providing the broadcast community with one-call access to maintenance and engineering labor services. The SSG 24-hour call center at TV Magic’s San Diego office complements the company’s engineering, design, and installation services by providing continuous phone support, system monitoring, and a provision of engineers for on-site maintenance and/or operations as required.
The professional services offered through SSG allow TV Magic customers to keep their systems up and running with one set annual cost and one-call access to maintenance, service, and a pool of qualified engineers. Typical systems that could benefit from SSG services include worship facilities, automation systems, master control facilities, conference rooms, post-production facilities, council chambers, and production studios.
