Pixel Power Appoints CEO to Drive US Expansion

Graphics leader looks to build US organisation, increase visibility, grow market share

As part of the goal to strengthen its international operation, broadcast graphics specialist, Pixel Power has appointed Pete Challinger as CEO, with responsibility to build the company‘s US operation.

Challinger brings with him extensive international management expertise, with an emphasis on new product and market development. His career in the video industry, which spans more than 20 years, includes experience at large companies such as Grass Valley and Abekas Video Systems, and startups like Spruce Technologies, where he was the founding VP of Marketing.

In 1999 he returned to his own consulting and distribution business, launching Quartz Electronics successfully in the US market. Most recently he has been working with MPEG-4 compression company, Modulus Video, helping them explore opportunities in the broadcast market segment.

“I have followed Pixel Power in the US for several years,” says Challinger, “and have been very impressed with the company‘s products and its people. As CEO, I aim to provide US leadership for the Pixel Power Inc. team and provide the senior management credibility essential in dealing with the major US networks and station groups.

My objective is to dramatically increase visibility of both the company and its products and achieve a significant increase in Pixel Power‘s US market share.”

For his part, founder and MD, James Gilbert believes that, “Pete‘s broadly-based executive management and industry experience will help Pixel Power take full advantage of the exciting growth opportunities the US broadcast graphics market offers.”
