Q & A with Cinital Founder Eliot Mack

eCinema to deliver first-ever 24 and 40 inch Full Screen RGB LED-based monitors at NAB ’07

Valencia, CA – 10th April 2007eCinema Systems announced today that it will showcase its next-generation DCM-class monitors at NAB‘07. The newly updated line of monitors will feature Full Screen RGB LED (FS-RGB-LED) backlight technology -an industry first– in 24 and 40 inch form factors.

These monitors use thousands of LEDs (red, green and blue) to illuminate the LCD. Nearly perfect shading is achieved through multiple adjustable zones that are automatically stabilized with sensors that measure all three primaries in real time thousands of times per second. HABANA AVENUE BLAZES ACROSS THE STARTING LINE WITH AEROSMITH IN NASCAR OPEN FOR ESPN

AerosmithHabana Avenue put the pedal to the metal recently when it help create Aerosmith‘s rockin‘ NASCAR season open which precedes every race broadcast on ESPN. The high-octane, 12-camera HD shoot took place during the band‘s concert gig at the MGM Grand Arena, Las Vegas.

The open, which finds Aerosmith performing its anthem of the ‘70s, “Back in the Saddle,” marks the resurgence of the iconic band and the start of a new season of NASCAR racing on ESPN.

“We did a location scout of Aerosmith‘s Nashville concert last October and had an opportunity to pitch creative to the band and its management,” says Habana Avenue creative director/executive producer, Steven J. Levy. “Aerosmith are huge NASCAR fans, and they added their input on how to tailor their show to the specific needs of NASCAR and ESPN. We were interested in shooting a big green screen behind them and the MGM Grand Arena was one of just two indoor venues that met our size requirements.” more

UVLD SLIMES NICKELODEON‘S CABLE UPFRONT AND THE NAKED BROTHERS AT BROADWAY‘S NOKIA THEATRE

nickUnlimited Visibility Lighting Design (UVLD) helped Nickelodeon “slime” the network‘s cable upfront and lent its lighting expertise to the presentation which was staged as a mock awards ceremony, with headline entertainment by The Naked Brothers, at Broadway‘s Nokia Theatre.

UVLD lighting designer Gregory Cohen teamed with producer Christine Somers of Somers & Associates and show director and TD Marty Goldenberg of Marlyn Productions to craft a standout experience for the upfront attendees. It began outside the theater where a Nickelodeon signature orange carpet was unfurled, a step-and-repeat graphic drop was hung with large format film fixtures for a TV look, and fake paparazzi popped their flashbulbs. more

Bandit Helps Westlife Show The Love

Bandit Lites continues its longstanding relationship as lighting suppliers to chart-toppers Westlife, currently blazing the live trail with their “Love” UK and Irish arena tour. Visuals – lighting, video and set – have been designed by Peter Barnes, working closely with Steve Levitt of Production North. Lighting was programmed and is being operated by Lighting Director, Dave Lee.
