PostWorks Expands Support for 2007 Network Television Pilots

NEW YORK–PostWorks, New York (www.pwny.com), the East Coast’s most comprehensive digital motion picture and HD post-production facility, today proudly detailed its support of eight of the 10 network television pilots for the upcoming fall television season which shot in New York City this year. PostWorks’ 2007 client pilots include 20th Century Fox Television’s “Babylon Fields” for CBS, Apostle and Sony Pictures Television’s “Canterbury’s Law” for Fox and “Ft. Pit” for NBC, Darren Star Productions’ and Sony Pictures Television’s “Cashmere Mafia” for ABC, Sony Pictures Television’s “Damages” for FX, Warner Bros. Television’s “Gossip Girl” for CW, NBC Universal Television’s “Lipstick Jungle” for NBC, and NBC Universal Television and The Levinson/Fontana Company’s “M.O.N.Y.” for NBC. So far, “Canterbury’s Law,” “Cashmere Mafia,” “Damages,” and “Lipstick Jungle” have been picked up.

Through its main facility and film lab, PostWorks handled film processing and dailies for “Babylon Fields, “Canterbury’s Law,” “Lipstick Jungle,” and “M.O.N.Y.” The company also provided custom finishing services for three of these four shows (all but “Lipstick Jungle,” which finished in LA), and for FX’s HD-acquired drama pilot “Damages,” while also supplying Avids to the productions for “M.O.N.Y.” and “Canterbury’s Law.” On other pilots, PostWorks provided select HD dailies transfers (”Gossip Girl,”) and digital dailies transmission for “Cashmere Mafia” and “Ft. Pit.”

“As a direct result of the tax incentives that kicked-in two years ago, New York is enjoying new stature in Hollywood, and we at PostWorks are earning important new opportunities to extend our services and relationships as our city and state become even more attractive for network television productions,” said Rob DeMartin, PostWorks’ chief operating officer and company co-owner. “Our company is uniquely qualified in its ability to serve virtually every need a production might face, and we gratefully acknowledge each of our clients for allowing us to work on their pilots this year.”

“We are pleased that New York’s Empire State Film Production Credit has again attracted so many pilots to New York,” said Pat Swinney Kaufman, Executive Director of the New York State Governor’s Office for Motion Picture and Television Development. “We know that producers and directors want to film in New York and now thanks to our very successful incentive program, filming here is far more affordable. This past pilot season we enjoyed hosting a record 10 pilots in New York.”

Including this year’s projects, over the past three years, PostWorks has now supported 19 network television pilots, most of which came from Los Angeles-based production companies. In the realm of network television, the company’s ongoing support also continues for HBO’s “The Wire,” NBC’s “30 Rock,” and numerous other series and specials for virtually every major broadcast and cable network.
