MDots to Present Historical Look at TV Main Titles During Promax/BDA 2007

Hollywood, CA, May 31, 2007 - “A Tribute to TV Main Titles,” an historical look at some of the more famous and not-so-famous TV titles from the 1940’s to today, will be presented for the first time ever by MDots during the PROMAX/BDA Conference. The session will be held on Thursday, June 14th at 2pm.

Joining panel moderator Marty Wall, Creative Director, Mdots Design & Creative, will be panelists Kasumi Mihori, an Emmy Award Winning title designer, Earl Jenshus, an Emmy nominated title designer, and Billy Pittard, whose acclaimed former company Pittard Sullivan designed and produced several hundred TV main titles, winning 5 Emmy Awards for “Outstanding Main Title Design.”

“A Tribute to TV Main Titles” will present classic sponsored titles from the 50’s, music and lyric driven titles, and many Emmy Award winning titles of the past ten years, including “The Wonderful World of Disney” title designed by Kasumi Mihori and executive produced by Marty Wall.

Says Wall, “TV main titles have always been–in and of themselves–a tremendous artform that we have enjoyed since the dawn of the TV age. But most of us never took the time to think about the creative and branding strategies that went into this creative imagery. As we move forward into the future, we wanted to take a step back with this session and reflect on just how far this industry has come in 60 years. This will be the first time ever that a historical presentation of TV main titles will be shown during PROMAX/BDA.”
