!mpossible Pictures Produces Hilarious Wall-E Campaign for Discovery Channel
Rascally Robot Comes to Life Inside Dirty Jobs, Deadliest Catch and Mythbusters
The creative folks at !mpossible Pictures are celebrating their recent completion of a clever campaign which cross-promotes Discovery Channel’s signature TV show franchises with Disney Pixar’s latest animated feature, Wall-E.
What sets this campaign apart are the clever and humorous ways in which the Wall-E character performs right within a Dirty Jobs junkyard, on the deck of a Deadliest Catch crab boat, and inside the Mythbusters’ workshop.
Thanks to a graphics toolkit provided by Pixar, !mpossible Pictures was able to place the character into fanciful settings of their own design. With a bit more clever editorial and motion tracking, the result is a series of very funny spots.
Through June 27th, the promos will drive viewers to special episodes featuring two-minute behind-the-scenes Wall-E vignettes on Discovery Channel.
