HP to Showcase Color and Mobility Innovations for Creative Professionals at SIGGRAPH 2008
PALO ALTO, Calif., Aug. 5, 2008 – HP will unveil unmatched, powerful computing solutions for creative professionals at SIGGRAPH 2008, and provide multiple opportunities to see them at the show.
Demonstrations and talks from HP include:
• HP DreamColor Display technology
o Demonstrations of the technology offered at the bottom of every hour.
o Customers share their experiences at the top of every hour.
o Demos and customer talks held in HP booth #739.
• “Revolutionizing Color Management: What You Dream Is What You Get”
o Tech Talk presented by HP and DreamWorks Animation on Tuesday, Aug. 12, at 1 p.m. PT in Hall G, Room 2.
o How to tap the newest breakthrough in color-critical display technology to get true color fidelity the first time.
o Engineers of the new HP DreamColor Display demonstrate this highly affordable display technology that enables a range of more than one billion colors in a 30-bit LCD display with blacker blacks, programmable white point, pre-sets for major industry specifications and customizations for target color gamuts.
• FJORG! animation contest
o HP Workstations are the power tools used in the annual animation contest where 16 teams compete to create the best
30-second animation.
o Takes place around the clock starting at 9 a.m. Monday, ending at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
o Awards will be presented Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. PT.
• Jon Peddie Research Press Lunch
o HP is participating in Jon Peddie Research’s informational lunch for press and analysts.
o The panel discussion topic is 2009 directions for ray tracing and rasterization, and the collision of games and simulations.
o Lunch takes place Wednesday, Aug. 13, at noon PT at the Palm Restaurant, in the Screening Room.
