Editor Dan Fisher Joins Broadway Video

broadwayvideo-logo_gif1.jpgNEW YORK CITY- Broadway Video has added Dan Fisher, a specialist in broadcast promotions and other short form media, to its editorial staff. Fisher, who won a Promax World Gold Award earlier this year for his work on a campaign for the Sci Fi Channel series Who Wants to be a Superhero?, will collaborate with BroadwaySound editors Mike Garatty and Kevin McElligott in crafting promotional spots and campaigns for broadcast clients.

Fisher has already completed several high profile projects through Broadway Video, including campaigns for Sanctuary and Eureka, both for the Sci Fi Channel, and In Plain Sight, for the USA Network. Fisher is working out of a newly-built editorial suite equipped with an Avid Symphony Nitris.

“Dan is an extremely talented editor with a well-established client base, that is already shared with Mike and Kevin,” said Michael Ungar, who heads Broadway Video’s Broadway Sound. “His cutting edge sense of style makes an excellent complement to our sound team. We work together closely with the creative mindset of a boutique, while still providing the amazing resources at the disposal of Broadway Video, which gives us the ability to handle any job.”

For his part, Fisher said that he was attracted to Broadway Video because it will allow his clients to complete their projects under one roof, and it will also allow him to expand his horizons. “Broadway has been very accommodating in providing me with the resources and support that I need,” he said. “It has also been supportive of my career goals and my desire to make a step up.”

Fisher arrives at Broadway Video after two years at Bionic Media, New York. His work there included numerous projects for the Sci Fi Channel, including campaigns for its flagship series Stargate SG-1 and Battlestar Galactica. “I love what I do, and I especially love doing it for Sci Fi because they allow me to be creative,” said Fisher. “I like the people and they like what I do, so it’s win-win.”

danfisherbv-lr_jpg.jpgFisher earned a degree in film and television production at Rochester Institute of Technology and began his career as an editor, cameraman, assistant director and producer with ABC affiliate WOKR in Rochester. He got his start in post production through Electronic Field Production and later freelanced for a number of New York City post facilities. He also held staff positions with Cadge Productions, M360 and Cliff Schwartz Music Productions. Throughout Fisher’s career he has won several awards including a Telly Award for his work on the documentary In Search of the Mole People and a creative editorial Aegis Award for a promotional campaign for Battlestar Galactica.
