JMR Brings the Power of BlueStor to the 2009 Hollywood Post Alliance Technology Retreat

RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. – Feb. 17, 2009 – JMR Electronics, Inc., a leading value provider of scalable storage systems for video and data intensive applications, will showcase their recently introduced BlueStor™ RAID storage systems at the 2009 Hollywood Post Alliance Technology Retreat. The annual event offers conference sessions, seminars and live demonstrations for the benefit of the organization’s attending post-production industry members.

Attendees can see the JMR BlueStor storage products on Tuesday, February 17 and Wednesday, February 18, at the HPA Technology Retreat’s Demo Room, located at the Westin Mission Hills Resort & Spa in Rancho Mirage, Calif. Registered visitors at the event may meet with JMR in the Demo Room from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, and 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
The company’s new line of affordable and fault-tolerant storage solutions are based on JMR’s PeSAN™ (PCIe Storage Attached Network) technology. JMR’s 16-bay BlueStor PeSAN RAID systems were developed to be the ultimate in high-performance Direct Attached Storage or Networked Attached Storage for a wide for a wide range of video applications like content creation, VOD, video editing and 2K/4K Digital Intermediate (DI) film applications requiring extremely high sustained throughput and reliability. A single 16-bay 3U RAID array with up to 16TB using SATA HDDs (or 4.8TB using SAS HDDs), delivers over 1,400 MB/s – making it ideal for encoding, multi-stream SD/HD real-time editing, and 2K DI applications. For collaborative or multi-stream SD/HD and 2K/4K DI workflows requiring even higher performance and scalable storage, BlueStor PeSAN powered RAIDs can achieve up to 4,000 MB/s and be expanded to over 4,000 TB using the current JMR PeSAN technology.

JMR’s demonstrations will include their new BlueStor EXTN-8, a PCIe Bus Extender with a built-in 16-bay SAS/SATA hot-swap JBOD/RAID housed in a common 3U rackmount chassis. The 5-slot PCIe bus extender’s reliability is backed by nearly two years of compatibility testing with many motherboards, operating systems and peripheral devices. The EXTN-8 is a highly functional, reliable Mac/PC-compatible unit, and includes compatibility with PCIe and PCIx technologies and having a JBOD/RAID storage subsystem in the same chassis (capable of up to 16TB SATA storage).
