Digital Jungle Spearheads New 2K Version of Cineglyphâ„¢
Enhanced 2K Telecine System Now Available in Hollywood
Hollywood, CA — Digital Jungle, one of Hollywood’s top post-production and digital workflow studios, is now offering enhanced 2K Telecine transfer services. Dave Walker, Digital Jungle’s new chief engineer, enhanced the capabilities of the Cineglyphâ„¢ Telecine specifically for Digital Jungle. Walker is also the creator of the Cineglyphâ„¢ Telecine system, which is used worldwide in motion picture postproduction.
The 2K Cineglyphâ„¢ Telecine provides cost-effective, professional quality film scanning, which finally provides an alternative to the more costly systems used in many post houses. The 2K Cineglyphâ„¢ is high resolution scanning system that outputs in any format of HD and SD along with 2K. The system also has proprietary noise and grain reduction, image enhancement, along with primary and secondary color correction. These features put it head-and-shoulders in front of the competition because they are built into the scanning process, yielding a more natural film look in the final scanned images.
Digital Jungle’s 2K Cineglyph™ Telecine is capable of scanning 2K at 15 fps for short turnaround. Much faster than the usual 2 to 4 frames per second of most other scanners. Any film perforation format, such as 2, 3, 4 perf., can be accommodated as well.
“This is a huge enhancement for our facility and our clients, said Digital Jungle President, Dennis Ho. “Dave Walker has taken the monotony out of 2K scanning.
Walker is a 20-year veteran in the Hollywood post community, having worked as an engineer at various facilities including Image Transform, AME, VDI, and ADS before starting his own engineering and manufacturing company, Digital Audio & Video, DAV, where he created the Cineglyph Telecine system. Walker has 5 patents for motion picture telecine technology and several of the products his company manufactured were OEM’d to another Telecine company. He sold his company, DAV in 2005, and joined Digital Jungle as Chief Engineer in early 2009.
