The New York Production Alliance Delivers an Up to the New York Minute Production Update

HD EXPO - Createasphere Hosts an Important NYPA Open Meeting Focusing on Incentives, Production, and Collaboration


September 10, 2009 (Burbank, CA) During HD EXPO - Createasphere in New York on September 17th, the New York Production Alliance (NYPA) will open the doors to its quarterly meeting, inviting all interested attendees to listen to, and interact with, a panel of influential leaders from guilds and unions, the industry, and organizations. The panel will take a focused look at where New York stands in relation to production and tax incentives, how to keep the industry working, and how to ensure that the industry grows.


The “Up To The New York Minute” panel and open meeting is moderated by John Johnston, NYPA. The panel will feature, subject to availability, representatives from key organizations and companies including; Stuart Suna, Silvercup Studios; Angela Miele, MPAA; John Ford, IATSE local 52; Nancy Fox, SAG; Mike Jackman, Deluxe New York; and Dominic Rom, PostWorks NY. This diverse group of speakers brings a broad perspective to all sides of the topic.


This state of the state production update panel is sponsored by NYPA, whose members include respected trade associations, companies, talent and craft unions and guilds, studios, production companies, post production facilities, nonprofit organizations, vendors and affiliated groups. NYPA membership encompasses all elements of the production industry in New York with 55 active organizational members. NYPA is considered a collective voice for New Yorkers employed in the film, television and commercial production industry.


September 17th, 2009 marks a return to New York for HD EXPO - Createasphere for its second year. Once again, HD EXPO - Createasphere will offer a full day of panels, intensives and exhibitions, this year set at the New Yorker Hotel. Lance Acord, ASC, a noted cinematographer whose “Where The Wild Things Are” will be released in October, joins Pat Thomson from American Cinematographer for a Keynote Conversation about Creativity. American Cinema Editors presents, “How The Editor Tells The Story: Creativity, Teamwork, Technology,” a lively exploration led by Post Magazine’s Ken McGorry featuring some of the most interesting and accomplished editors working today, including Oscar(r) and Emmy winners.
