MOXIE PICTURES SIGNS SUPERFAD FOR LIVE ACTION REPRESENTATION
Los Angeles & New York — (December 8, 2009) — Global production company Moxie Pictures is excited to announce that it has signed Cannes award-winning collective Superfad for live action representation. Known for its media-agnostic approach, Superfad has directed live action and animated projects for Visa, Nascar, HTC, Nike, Google, PSP, Sprint and Durex. The relationship with Moxie extends the company’s reach into more live action endeavors with the trusted Moxie-backed production history and acumen.
“We are always looking for diverse filmmakers who enhance the whole and push the boundaries of advertising and other content. Our directors are a part of our family, so who they are is as important as their work, says Moxie Pictures CEO Robert Fernandez. “Superfad has a reputation for high end work with a collaborative approach: They are exceptionally nice people with impressive talent and we are pleased to welcome them to Moxie.
Moxie Pictures is known for the richness of talent, diverse, highly impactful projects and for representing directors over the long-term. Among those are Errol Morris, Martin Granger, Frank Todaro, Wes Anderson, Cameron Crowe and Jared Hess.
“Identifying experts who can help you flourish in the market is an integral part of our business, and you can’t do better than Robby and the Moxie Pictures team, says Superfad EP/Partner Geraint Owen.
“Robby is an award-winning producer with deep experience and industry respect. He has built an amazing company and we are excited to be a new partner in Moxie’s creative offerings, agrees Superfad Partner/EP Kevin Batten.
Over the last year, Superfad has been recognized for producing one of the year’s most popular virals – Durex “Get It On – which was honored with a Cannes Lion, D&AD Award, CLIO and honored in the AICP Show. Superfad’s work for the ongoing integrated Sprint campaign via Goodby Silverstein and Partners was also honored with Cannes Gold. Superfad has offices in London, Los Angeles, Seattle and New York.
Justin Leibow, Partner and Creative Director at Superfad who directed live action heavy projects for the GAP voter campaign and KMART/Protégé, noted that the relationship would help place Superfad in contention for more ambitious live action work.  “For us, he concludes, “It’s about finding the right approach for the project. We love typography as much as live action directing – it is the idea that drives the execution.  Moxie gets this.
