Createasphere Digital Asset Management Conference Sets Powerhouse Lineup
Stan Scoggins, Scott Phelan, Roger Howard, Ben Huh, and Alex Grossman Named as Presenters
December 17, 2009 (Burbank, CA) The debut of Createasphere’s Digital Asset Management Conference and Exhibition (DAM) on February 17th & 18th, 2010, will feature some of the most highly regarded experts working in DAM today; influencers who bring unique perspective to the conversation which is considered by many to be the topic of the next decade. The experts in the conference track will address a breadth of critical topics of key relevance to companies and experts engaged in or beginning efforts in DAM as the critical discipline grows exponentially in interest to content holders, technologists and creators alike.
The Digital Asset Management conference was launched after careful analysis and significant industry interest, said Kristin Petrovich, President of Createasphere. “Our industry is keenly focused on the constantly growing mountain of content we are creating and managing. The studio experts, social media leaders and innovators participating in the DAM conference will impart an uncommonly deep bench of experiences and expertise. Participants and sessions include:
• Keynote with Alex Grossman, a respected twenty year veteran of the industry who has had important roles in Apple’s server and storage product, product development at MicroNet, and now serves as President and CEO at Active Storage. He is a patent holder and early contributor to the first firewire based SAN.
•Roger Howard, Digital Archivist at Blizzard Entertainment, has a fixation on developing and promoting the use of practical technologies for the creation and management of digital assets. He has served as Director of DAM at Playboy, and at eVox.
•Scott Phelan, VP of Information Technology at Fox Filmed Entertainment, began working in DAM in1998 through the selection and implementation of Universal Studio’s solution for unit photography and marketing collateral. He drives DAM strategy for the film studio in partnership with theatrical home entertainment television and digital business functions. He is responsible for the operation of Fox’s enterprise-wide Esprit application. He has an undergraduate degree from UCSB and earned an MBA from USC.
•Stan Scoggins, Universal, started the studio’s DAM Department in 1998, and the system (SOLAR) have over 1,000 users and houses more than 4 million assets. He has an MBA from Wharton, and a MA/BA from Stanford and worked on 1992 and 1994 senate races for Diane Feinstein.
•Ben Huh, a former journalist turned dotcom entrepreneur, has been credit with bringing internet memes to the mainstream and popularizing internet culture. His Cheezburger Network is one of the largest blog networks on the internet today, attracting over 11 million visitors every month.
Panelists and sessions are being added and announced on an ongoing basis. In addition to two days of panels and keynotes, the Createasphere DAM conference features lunchtime roundtables, networking opportunities, and other community building events and opportunities for education and connection.
