Christie has designed and built one of the world’s largest HD virtual reality CAVE™ systems for the U.S. Joint Forces Command (USJFCOM). A fiberglass, superstructure custom-engineered by Christie, the CAVE delivers seamlessly blended, high-definition images on five integrated screens (or walls) using 16 Christie Mirage HD6 stereoscopic DLP® projectors that supply 32 million pixels of resolution. Christie® will debut its next-generation digital cinema solutions, the Christie Solaria™ series, at ShowEast with the launch of the Christie CP2220 digital cinema projector. Recognized as “the future of digital cinema,” the projector features Texas Instruments’ (TI) (NYSE: TXN) next generation DLP Cinema® technology and an optional integrated 2K/4K media block. Christie’s next-generation 4K digital cinema projectors will display 4096 x 2160 pixels of resolution. While maintaining support for 2K external servers, these new models allow exhibitors to easily project 2K or 4K content, giving them the widest choice in digital cinema options. 94% of Feature Films Screened Using Christie Projectors

CYPRESS, CA – (May 7, 2009) – Christie is delighted to announce that as the technical D-Cinema partner to the Cannes Film Festival for the third year running, there is a huge increase in movies being screened using the digital format. Out of the 53 features showing at the 62nd Cannes Film Festival, the Official Selection for the Cannes Film Festival 2009 has revealed that at least 50 will be screened digitally compared to 20 screened digitally in 2007 and 37 in 2008. more
