Encino, CA, January 10, 2011 — Digital creative services agency AvatarLabs has named Josh Lawson as an Interactive Producer. He joins the company from Paramount Pictures, where he held the same post.
In his new position, Lawson will be responsible for developing and implementing digital and social media marketing campaigns promoting theatrical and home entertainment releases from clients of AvatarLabs. His work will involve creative direction, brand development, project management, campaign strategy development and execution, content creation, social engagement and viral promotion.

Fairies, a suspenseful water rescue and a raging bear are highlights of the epic campaign for Bouygues Telecom co-produced by Harvest and Wanda for DDB Paris. Harvest Films’ director Baker Smith collaborated with masterful DP Chris Soos, accomplished editor Herve Schneid (Amelie, City of Lost Children) and the visual effects artists at BUF to craft a campaign that includes the whimsical “Fairies� which was released theatrically in 3D.

New York-based creative studio Nice Shoes continues to expand 3D workflow in a new spot for Sony and ESPN that showcases all of their services in their latest stereoscopic 3D endeavor.
In the humorous :30 spot Impressive, a group of guys arrive at a friend’s house to watch ESPN’s broadcast of the BCS National Championship Game in 3D on his Sony HD TV only to find he’s renovated the whole place to further enhance the viewing experience. Ad agency The Vault asked Nice Shoes to complete all the post work on the technically complex commercial, including animation, graphics, compositing and color-grading.
Color grading was performed on Nice Shoes’ Baselight platform, which now has a toolset for stereoscopic 3D color correction and geometry fixing. The software, along with a suite of tools developed in-house by Nice Shoes, has helped producers streamline its stereoscopic pipeline.

The Cinematic Orchestra performed a large-scale concert at London’s legendary Royal Albert Hall with the London Metropolitan Orchestra that required the use of Soundcraft Vi6 and Vi1 consoles at front of house and a Soundcraft Vi4 for the monitor mix.
The Cinematic Orchestra is a British jazz and electronic group whose music, as its name indicates, is expansive in scope, employing live electric and acoustic instruments, turntables, samples and electronic elements. The group has scored a number of films and released several albums.
