“Selecting the winners to this year’s competition was not an easy decision since the best creative artists in the industry today were behind each entry that was received,” said John Palmissano, long-time telecine artist and one of the five judges in this year’s competition. “Colorists are a creative force behind our television and film industries, and the exceptional quality of work they continue to produce using da Vinci tools attests to how artistry and technology are evolving together.”
“I am proud and often quite astonished at the numerous ways artists, post houses, and other creative firms use our image enhancement and restoration tools to advance the quality of material that is enjoyed by so many,” said Bill Robertson, general manager at da Vinci. “We want to thank everyone for their participation in the third-annual competition, and we are happy to showcase the innovation, artistry, and expertise of the creative talent behind the most high-profile and cutting-edge projects today.”
da Vinci will be showing the Master Colorist entries, along with their own award-winning technology, for the duration of the show (through April 27) at booth SL713 in the Las Vegas Convention Center. Visit them at the show or go to the da Vinci Web site, www.davsys.com, for more information on the company’s leading color enhancement systems and image restoration products.
