3G and More
Ensemble Designs is here with 28 products, celebrating 20 years and good health, says Ensemble’s founder David Wood, (who is also a DSLR fan like so many on the show floor). For NAB, Ensemble brought five new 3G products in their BrightEye line and nine 3G products in their Avenue line, from an electrical to optical convertor to automatic gain control for audio and sync changeover. Avenue also gets new conversion, protection and TSG tools and two new ASI/310M convertors.
When I ask Ensemble’s Cindy Zuelsdorf to pick one highlight, she goes right for the new 3G/HD sync pulse and test signal generator (BrightEye 57). Besides the usual practical reasons to like this product, it has the added punch of beautiful Sarnoff test patterns for things such as field dominance probelms, chroma call, audio lip sync, etc. A secure digital card allows for playback of custom test patterns. The device is also at the show powering Plura’s 3G monitor. It’s available as a board or a mobile handheld device.
For all their new signal processing, integration, and monitoring products, Ensemble’s site is a great place to start, the information is very clearly laid out.
