Inlet Armada automates the digital media workflow process, from analysis to encode to post-encode. Announced at last year’s NAB for shipment in late 2008, the product is now available.

Armada has three processing nodes: Analysis ($6,500), Transcoding ($7,500), and Post Encoding ($12,000) controlled by the Management Server ($14,000). The system is modular, so you can buy a component at a time, and even integrate third-party encoding systems into the workflow. more

Class On Demand has evolved in the last 15 years into a company that provides a variety of training related products in the consumer to professional space. We’ve evolved from tape based training to DVD and downloadable content.

We’ve won a bunch of awards for our training, and have frankly gotten a reputation for producing very high quality content. Probably as a result, in addition to our retail products, we now do a lot of custom-branded training for companies like Grass Valley, Sorenson, Telestream, and a variety of others. more

You can buy a DVD duplicator/printer for under $2,500 from some manufacturers, or for about $10,000 from Rimage. So the obvious question I wanted to ask their product folks is why would I want to? Turns out they had some pretty good answers.

First, the units are all standalone systems with a processor and network capabilities so you don’t need to allocate a computer to run them. They’re sturdy appliances with shielded input trays that keep the dust off your blanks, which helps avoid print errors, and can produce both DVD-R and Blu-ray discs. more
