Media 100 - Comeback Kid

While many thought pioneering NLE creator Media 100 had folded long ago, the popular Mac software package turned up last year as part of the expanding Boris FX product line.

At the show, booth visitors got a preview of Media 100 version 11.5, due to have its official press debut at next month‘s IBC convention. New developments include improved performance as well as support for tapeless workflows. Highlights of the 11.5 point release include support for FireWire devices, support for P2 cameras,, support for SDI audio for the Media 100 HDX hardware, and improved Boris Red, BorisFX, and Graffiti integration with faster rendering.

One major improvement is tight integration with AJA‘s popular, league-leading Kona card family. This is Media 100‘s first move from proprietary hardware, which, though of good quality, didn‘t mesh well with the much larger universe of today‘s Mac post world.
