Meet the Guest Bloggers: Joseph Spano

Joseph Spano is 23-year-old student at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. He won first place in the Adobe and Art Institute Live Action Footage Competition.

“I was completely floored when I found out the news,” he says. “I was actually less than halfway through the program when I made the piece. This was a tremendous accomplishment for me.”

Joseph was introduced to the video and animation field as a junior in high school, when he started taking classes at a local trade school for Interactive Multimedia. During his senior year, he participated in an animation competition, won first place, and was given a job at a local videographer’s company.

“I spent the next six months learning how to composite and animate essentially on my own, and created a 30 minute promotional piece for the school I attended,” he says. “After working for two years, I decided to continue my education at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. I feel like I made exactly the right choice in what field I decided to pursue, and where I decided to pursue it. I would just like to thank Adobe and the Art Institutes for giving me this incredible opportunity.”
