This year’s Slow Art gallery features a nice mix of traditional artwork, sculpture, and interactive technology. It’s definitely worth a stop if you’re in Hall H.

Be sure to check out the New Tech Demos, which presents innovative technologies and applications in several fields, including displays, robotics, input devices, and interaction techniques. These displays can be found throughout the convention center in Hall H, Hall G, the Hall K entrance, and the South Lobby.

Ants in the Pants

Ants in the Pants combines a new wearable tactile interface with a visual display to deliver realistic insect sensations. more

Put any object into the interaction space and it is intantaneously modeled in 3D and injected into a virtual world.

Lots of video game-playing action at the Digital Media Art College Booth (551), where players battled with plastic guitars to the Toadies Possum King in a game called Guitar Hero. The guitars, outfitted with plastic colored buttons, were used to knock out riffs which displayed in sequence on the screen. “You Rock!” greeted the triumphant winner.
