Hands on Premiere Pro
Independent filmmaker Jacob Rosenberg is sharing his wealth of experience with Premiere Pro in the Adobe/HP hands on session at New Frontier on Main. Under Rosenberg’s tutalage, participants are getting a chance to test drive Adobe Creative Suite 2/Production Studio on HP xw4400 Workstations. He’ll no doubt cover new Production Suite features you might have heard of such as Cliff Notes and Dynamic Link–and if he doesn’t you can ask him about it after.
The HP xw4400 to is a good workstation to know for those of you on a budget; especially if you’re trying to muddle through on a PC and hitting the limits of performance. HP is running a show special of $829 for an entry level configuration, you’ll need to upgrade for full film/video editing performance, up to just under $2000 for a screamer. That way you’ll also get the benefit of Intel’s new Core 2 Duo chip. Effects artists will of course need still more. But with the prices of high-end PCs and entry-level workstations converging, it’s definitely worth a look, especially if you’re here in Park City.
For those of you not on as much of a budget, you can also see a dual-core xw8400 that shows off the new Intel 5100 Xeon dual-core processors you’ve read so much about in the computer press. (You might have heard the chip called “Woodcrest”).
